Your pension and tax
Under the France-Morocco tax treaty, a pension is taxed in the country where you are domiciled. In Morocco, tax on a foreign pension is reduced by 80% on the part transferred permanently in non-convertible dirhams. So your pension must arrive in an ordinary dirham account.

When you leave, you hand back your carte Vitale. A retiree in the French system can be covered by Morocco's CNSS thanks to the France-Morocco agreement, or join the Caisse des Français de l'Étranger. You still need insurance that covers repatriation.
Our guide: living in Morocco as an expatAs a couple
Morocco does not recognise unmarried partnerships. An unmarried partner who does not work cannot get a residency card.
